Communication Strategy and Planning

Project 1

Project: Communication and involvement strategy for facility changes and improvements

Client: a BC crown corporation

Synopsis: After auditing the communication tools in the organization and the division, I re-aligned and re-purposed the existing communication vehicles and created a measurable process for information on changes and impacts to flow from leadership to approximately 5,000 stakeholders and back.

Project 2

Project: Communication strategy for a supporting project of a larger initiative

Client: Ministry of Health eHealth

Synopsis: I developed a comprehensive communication strategy and plan to help the project team share information with other working groups, and between impacted stakeholders, who were scattered around the province.

Project 3

Project: Communication strategy for engagement survey campaign

Client: Employee engagement division of a BC health authority

Synopsis: With organization wide employee engagement survey about to launch, I worked with the employee engagement team to produce an easy, creative way to get the word out on the survey’s goals, objectives, and expectations to employees at all levels.

Project 4

Project: Communication strategy for new labour agreement

Client: Human Resources division of a BC health authority

Synopsis: HR and I worked together to create and implement a communication plan to support the launch of a new labour agreement consolidating 18,000 employees into a single certification and a web-based electronic job postings tool.

Project 5

Project: Communication and involvement strategy for a corporate-wide technical change project, or ERP

Client: a BC crown corporation

Synopsis: Working with a change team consisting of consultants and employees, I facilitated the creation and then led the implementation of an integrated employee communication strategy for a multi-phased PeopleSoft project affecting over 4,000 stakeholders.

Tactical Execution

Project 1

Project: Online re-branding and web site development

Client: a non-profit, membership driven professional association

Synopsis: The Board of directors, the web committee and I collaborated on re-branding and re-designing a website for a non-profit association to help their volunteers recruit potential members, and more effectively connect with existing members and online communities.

Project 2

Project: Engagement Toolkit for Project Managers

Client: a BC crown corporation

Synopsis: Produced an electronic and hardcopy toolkit that helps project managers through stakeholder engagement step-by-step.

Project 3

Project: Information Guide and Workbook

Client: a BC crown corporation

Synopsis: Produced a hardcopy guide to support face-to-face communication on a new partnership agreement for frontline staff

Project 4

Project: Meeting Facilitation

Clients: Three Vancouver-based non-profit organizations

Synopsis: Facilitated town hall and strategic working sessions for groups small and large to share information, surface issues, and brainstorm resolution strategies

Project 5

Project: Employee Communication Re-alignment

Client: a BC crown corporation

Synopsis: Re-purposed existing internal communication tools and aligned them with external vehicles to streamline information exchange between employees and the general public. Implemented regular benchmarking to measure effectiveness of content.
